Boston College unveils “Red Bandana” football uniform

After unveiling their throwback uniform on Wednesday, Boston College continued to show off their new uniforms for the upcoming season with their lastest “Red Bandana” uniform.

Boston College’s annual “Red Bandana” game honors the life of BC alumni, Welles Crowther, who was killed on 9/11 while rescuing people in the World Trade Center’s south tower. Crowther was remembered as the man wearing a red bandana over his face to help him breathe through the smoke. Crowther helped to save 18 people from the south tower.

This year’s edition of the “Red Bandana” game uniform is a lot less subtle than previous years. In the past, BC has worn the pattern on the helmet stripe, cleats, gloves and other accessories. This season, the uniform features the unique pattern on every part of the uniform except the helmet. The pattern can be seen on the numbers, pants side panels, front notches on the jersey, cleats, gloves and other accessories. There is no longer a stripe (of any kind) on the helmet.

The school has yet to announce when the “Red Bandana” game will take place.
