Clippers to wear Buffalo Braves throwbacks

On Friday, the LA Clippers announced that they will wear Buffalo Braves throwback uniforms for select games during the 2019-20 season. The uniforms based are based on the Braves’ uniform worn from 1971 to 1973.

The Classic Edition uniform features diagonal black and orange stripes across the front and back with the retro Buffalo Braves logo on top of the stripes on the front. Also on the front is the player’s number and “BRAVES” which are offset. The shorts continue the diagonal stripes, which began at the player’s left armhole and end on the right leg, and also include “BUFFALO” at the bottom.

The Clippers wore the orange throwback uniforms from that era during the 2005-06 season.

The Braves played in Buffalo from 1970 to 1978 and then moved to San Diego and became the Clippers. The Clippers moved to Los Angeles in 1984.
