Nets officially unveil Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired City Edition uniform

On Thursday, the Brooklyn Nets officially unveiled their 2020-21 City Edition uniform which honors the life and legacy of Brooklyn-born artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat.

On the front of the jersey is “BKLYN Nets” designed in the style of Basquiat’s signature. A multicolored stripe runs down the side of the black uniform that reflects a style seen in much of Basquiat’s art. Above the jock tag is Basquiat’s full name signature.

On the front of the waistband on the shorts is “NETS” in a Basquiat-inspired font. The player’s left leg has “Brooklyn New York” in the same font, while the side of the right leg has Basquiat’s iconic crown design, which is found in much of his artwork and also references the Nets’ home in Kings County.
