On Friday, the Boston Celtics officially unveiled their latest Nike City Edition uniform that takes inspiration from the NBA championship banners that hang in the rafter at TD Garden.
The solid white uniform features a stacked green “Boston Celtics” wordmark that mimics the font used on the banners. Above the jock tag is the quote “The Boston Celtics are not a basketball team, they’re a way of life” by Hall of Fame coach Red Auerback. The NBA emblem seen on the banners is duplicated onto the front of the waistband on the shorts. Green trim completes the uniform.
A bonus detail of the new jersey is the team jersey partner patch. The Vistaprint logo features its wordmark in the style of the nameplates from the Celtics warmup jackets during the 1980s.
