Florida football unveils latest throwback uniform

On Monday, the Florida Gators unveiled their complete throwback look after announcing back in September that they will wear throwbacks for homecoming against Missouri.

The retro uniforms use the same jersey and pants design as last season’s throwback look, but this year’s helmet is different. The helmets this season combine multiple styles over the years.

The throwback helmets are blue with gray facemasks and feature the classic block “F” logo on the sides and white and orange stripes down the middle. Florida used a blue helmet as an option before adopting orange as the primary helmet color in 1969, while the block “F” logo was used throughout the early 1960s.

Like last season’s throwbacks, the blue jersey featuring orange and white shoulder stripes was inspired by the Gators’ look when Steve Spurrier played quarterback and won the Heisman Trophy.

The white pants, also from the Spurrier era, have orange and blue stripes going down each side.

To complete the look, the Gators will wear white crew socks with a blue stripe around the top and black cleats to better represent the look of the 1950s and 1960s.
