On Monday, the Boise State Broncos unveiled their new blackout uniform. The alternate uniform was a collaboration with Nike that began about two years ago.
The matte black helmet now has a permanent chrome horse head logo on the side after the helmet went through a new dipping process. Boise State will also have blue chrome facemasks for the first time.
The uniform follows the same theme of their primary uniforms but the stripes on the sleeves are now a reflective dark gray and the jersey numbers are outlined in blue. The collar of the jersey remains blue with the phrase “Blue Collar” printed inside.
Boise State will debut the uniform on Sept. 20 vs Air Force. It will be Boise State’s first all-black uniform combination since 2012 against UNLV.
