MLB Players’ Weekend Uniforms 2019

After 2 seasons of colorful uniforms, MLB and the MLBPA have changed up the uniforms for Players’ Weekend. The new uniforms will now be black and white and the players will bring the color.

Players will have the opportunity to make personal touches to what they wear (including nicknames on the jersey) and their equipment (bats, cleats, gloves, wristbands, compression sleeves and catcher’s equipment). The monochromatic black and white uniforms were designed to be simple and let the players’ personal touches stick out and pop.

The home team will decide which color, black or white, they will wear for the weekend. However, pitchers on the team wearing white will wear black caps to avoid any issues for the batters and umpires seeing the ball. There will also be a league-wide batting helmet that teams will use. The batting helmets will be matte black and matte white to go with the respective team’s monochromatic look.

Lastly, players leaguewide will have the option of wearing a patch in honor of late Angels pitcher, Tyler Skaggs, who passed away on July 1 at the age of 27.

Players’ Weekend will take place on Aug. 23-25.
