Arizona State hockey to wear football-inspired throwback uniform

On Friday, the Arizona State Sun Devils men’s ice hockey program unveiled a new ‘Sunburst’ uniform that honors the school’s 1975 undefeated football team.

The throwback-inspired uniform features the ‘Sunburst’, worn during the Kush era on the football helmets from 1975-79, on the front of the jersey and on the sides of the gold hockey helmets. On the back of the helmet is a retro CCM logo like the one used in 1975. Perforated numbers are used to give the jersey as similar a look to the 1975 football jersey as possible. Lastly, a Sparky logo is stitched on the shoulders to complete the look.

Arizona State will wear the throwback look for the first time tonight in game two of a series at Notre Dame.
