Trail Blazers unveil Oregon-themed City Edition uniform

On Thursday, the Portland Trail Blazers unveiled their lastest City Edition uniform for the upcoming NBA season.

The new threads celebrate Oregon’s unique landscape and acknowledge the tribal nations throughout the area.

With brown as the base color, the new uniform uses earth tone colors (reds, blues, yellows) to represent the landscape, with the side stripe representing the state’s picture-esque mountain skyline. A subtle topographic map of Oregon is seen on the base color.

A script “Oregon” wordmark is stitched across the chest for the first time in team history. The wordmark is modeled after the iconic Old Town Portland sign (yes, the tail of the ‘G’ is supposed to be cut off like that on the jersey).

On the waistband of the shorts is an outline of the state of Oregon with culturally symbolic triangles to represent “the importance of home and family of our tribal nations.” Lastly, above the jock tag is the phrase “We will always be here” to acknowledge the tribal nations’ past, present and future.
