NC State football to wear “Blood Moon” uniform

On Tuesday, the North Carolina State football program unveiled their new “Blood Moon” alternate look.

The “Blood Moon” uniform was inspired by an astronomical phenomenon known as the Blood Moon, which is when the moon appears red during a total lunar eclipse.

To signify a Blood Moon, the uniform utilizes a black matte helmet with an oversized Tuffy logo and black pants to represent the darkness of an eclipse. The red color of the moon is represented by NC State’s primary red jersey but with black numbers outlined in reflective chrome to signify the light reflected by the moon.

NC State will wear the uniform for homecoming against Florida State on Nov. 14.
