Georgia unveils two new alternate football uniforms

On Thursday, the Georgia Bulldogs football program unveiled two new alternate uniforms the team will wear this season.

The first alternate look the team will wear is a throwback away uniform celebrating the school’s national championship in 1980. Worn with their traditional red helmet with white facemask, the throwback threads feature white and black Northwestern stripes on the sleeves and black block numbers. A commemorative patch honoring the 40 years since winning the championship is on the right chest.Β To complete the throwback look, Georgia will wear red pants with a thick white stripe going down each side outlined in black.

Georgia will wear the uniform on Sept. 26 at Arkansas.

The second uniform unveiled features a more modern looking alternate jersey.Β While the black jersey uses traditional block numbers, the collar features a spiked dog collar design and the school’s Uga logo on the sleeves.

The Uga logo also has a small change, the number 100 has replaced their primary “G” logo on the dog tag of the logo as a nod to the bulldog nickname officially being used by the university 100 years ago.

Georgia will wear their traditional red helmet and gray pants with the new jersey.

It’s unknown at this time when the Bulldogs will wear the alternate look this season.
