Badgers to honor Final Four team with throwback uniform

On Thursday afternoon, the Wisconsin Badgers unveiled a throwback uniform their men’s basketball team will wear against Ohio State on Feb. 9 to honor the 20th anniversary of the 2000 Final Four team.

The white uniform features “Wisconsin” across the chest in red, outlined in black. “Badgers” runs down the red side panel of the shorts. The trim around the collar and armholes are red and black. The “4Moore” patch continues to be on the Badgers’ jersey in remembrance of assistant coach Howard Moore’s family. Moore lost his wife and daughter in a car accident back in May.

Head coach Dick Bennett led the Badgers to 22-14 record during the 1999-2000 season. They earned an eight-seed in the NCAA tournament with wins against 9-seed Fresno State, 1-seed Arizona, 4-seed LSU and 6-seed Purdue. Wisconsin lost to eventual National Champion Michigan State in the national semifinals.

The Final Four team will “celebrate the 20-year reunion of the 2000 Final Four team at halftime”.
