Navy unveils 2019 Army-Navy Game uniform

On Thursday, the Navy Midshipmen unveiled their 1960s inspired throwback uniform the football team will wear in the 2019 Army-Navy Game.

The throwback uniform pays tribute to the 1960-63 teams that went 30-12, 4-0 against Army, ranked as high a No. 2 in the county, played in the Orange and Sugar Bowls and produced two Heisman Trophy winners in Joe Bellino (1960) and Roger Stauback (1963).Β

The navy blue colored uniform features two gold stripes on each shoulder and block numbers. The patch on each player’s left upper chest/shoulder is specific to each player. You can view which patch each player will wear here.

Each helmet was custom painted to combine the look of the 1960s helmet and the bronze texture of the Heisman Trophy. The numbers 12 and 27 are on the front of the helmet to represent Navy’s two Heisman Trophy winners, Staubach and Bellino, respectively.
