To celebrate the Cleveland Cavaliers 50th season, the Cavs introduced a mash-up look for their 2019-20 City Edition uniform.
Navy is used as the base of the uniform as a nod to the 2005-10 alternate uniform. The gold “CLE” script with a feather is on the front of the uniform to acknowledge the team’s original threads worn from 1970-74. Cleveland’s current wordmark with the 50th season logo appears on the jock tag.
The wine and gold inline font on the players’ number is inspired by the Cavs’ uniforms worn from 1994 to 2003.
Wine, gold and white hashmarks run down the side paneling of the uniform to resemble the look of the Cavs uniform from 1974 through 1980.
Lastly, the waistband on the shorts displays the Cavs retro βV-basketβ logo from 1983 to 1994.Β
The team will play on a special court that goes with the uniform for home games.
