Cavaliers unveil throwback uniform and court

On Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers unveiled their 2019-20 Classic Edition uniform to celebrate the teams’ 50th season. The throwback uniform debuted 25 years ago when the Cavs moved to Gund Arena (now called Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse).

The black uniform features an upward slanted “CLEVELAND” in an orange and black inline font. The front number is offset in white. The front of the jersey also has the Nike logo on the upper right chest and the Goodyear logo on the upper left.

The shorts feature the retro Cavs logo and a blue splash graphic that stretches from the bottom of the right leg to the top of the left leg.

The Cavs will wear the throwback uniform for eight games, including their home opener.

Also introduced were two of the three courts the Cavs will be using at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The first court shown is their special Classic Edition court, which was design to complement the Classic Edition throwback uniform. The alternate court was inspired by the hardwood used at Gund Arena from 1996 to 2003. The court features a two-toned powder blue and black perimeter and is accented by the wave pattern featured in the Classic Edition design. The retro Cavs logo is displayed at half court. Both baselines feature the throwback Cleveland Cavaliers wordmark in orange and black inline font.

The second court is their primary court they will be using throughout the season. The primary court features the Cavs 50th season logo at mid-court. The perimeter of the court is in solid gold with “CLEVELAND CAVALIERS” in wine on each baseline. “Celebrating 50 Seasons” is centered on the lower sideline, which includes the names of all the season ticket holders within the letters.
