Bengals unveil “New Stripes”

On Monday morning, the Cincinnati Bengals officially unveiled their new uniforms for the 2021 NFL season.

The new black, white and orange jerseys feature a new stripe pattern on the sleeves, which are now longer and thicker. Unlike their previous jersey, the sleeve caps are now the same color as the rest of the jersey and there is no longer TV numbers on the shoulders.

Also changing from their old jersey is the number font. The updated font features a similar design but with added “sharp angles” to mimic the design of Paul Brown Stadium and the claw marks of a Bengal. The numbers continue to be outlined but the drop shadow has been removed. The team’s striped “B” logo has been replaced with their “BENGALS” wordmark. On the back of the jersey, the Bengals have removed the outline from the player’s nameplate to keep with the simpler look. Inside the back collar is the signature of the team’s founder, Paul Brown.

Lastly, the Bengals updated the stripes on their pants as well. The pants, which come in three options, feature stripes all within the side panel, no longer wrapping around the front. The pants come in orange stripes on black, black stripes on white and orange stripes with a black outline on white.
