On Tuesday morning, the Navy Midshipmen football program unveiled their Army-Navy Game uniform for 2020. This season’s edition focuses on the United States Naval Academy’s 175th anniversary.
Navy’s uniform pays tribute to the USNA in multiple ways. First, is the prominent navy blue and white marble pattern seen on the shoulders and hand-painted helmets of the uniform. The marble stone is seen on campus in the crypt of John Paul Jones and within Bancroft Hall. Dubbed “Ocean Camo” by the Under Armour design team, the marble pattern is also designed to resemble the whitecaps on the rough open seas. On the shoulders and gloves of the uniform is the Naval Academy Seal in gold.
The Midshipmen’s helmet continues to honor the original six frigates of the Navy with gold stripes down the middle. The stripes are laid with custom gold flake to mimic the gold metallics found across the USNA.
On the white pants is the emblem of the Marine Corps on the front left hip, while navy and gold stripes run down the sides. To complete the uniform, the gloves and cleats also feature the unique marble pattern.
This season’s Army-Navy Game will take place at Army’s Michie Stadium on December 12.
