On Friday, the North Carolina Tar Heels football program officially announced that the team will be wearing 1990s throwback uniforms for Saturday’s matchup against Wake Forest.
To pay homage to head coach Mack Brown’s first stint in Chapel Hill, the throwback Carolina blue jersey features navy blue and white stripes on the sleeve, navy blue collar and drop-shadow numbers. “Carolina” is written over the white stripe on the sleeves.
The white pants have Carolina blue and navy blue stripes down each side with the interlocking “NC” logo on the hips on top of the stripes.
To complete the throwback look, Tar Heel foot logo helmet stickers have been placed on the back of the helmets.
