On Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angles Chargers unveiled an update to their iconic lightning bolt logo and wordmark.
The new design removes all navy blue from the logos, making powder blue the primary color. The lightning bolt logo is now flattened a bit (vs the previous logo) and is also simpler without the double-outline. Last season, the Chargers made powder blue their primary home uniform color.
Los Angeles’ new wordmark features a new italicized font. A lightning bolt “emoji” can be seen shooting from the bottom of the “A” in “CHARGERS”.
While powder blue and “Sunshine Gold” are now the primary colors, the Chargers will still use the darker royal blue as their Color Rush uniform. The team will unveil new uniforms later this spring. It is unknown at this time what will change on the uniforms, besides the logos.
The Chargers updates come one day after the Los Angeles Rams, their SoFi Stadium co-tenet/landlord, unveiled their new logo.
