On Friday, the Los Angeles Kings introduced their new uniform for the 2020 Stadium Series outdoor game at the Air Force Academy.
The uniform takes inspiration from the Air Force Academy’s angular architecture and aircraft to give the look a “sleek, futuristic design”. Los Angeles’ jersey features a new “LA” crest on diagonal bisected blocking, which was influenced by aircraft battle stripes. The oblique angles used to shape the jersey’s text and numbering was inspired by the architecture at the Air Force Academy and “a pilot’s ambition to push to the edge”. A checkerboard design graphic is used along the inside collar.
The jerseys will make their debut on Saturday, Feb. 15, against the Colorado Avalanche at the Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs. The Kings will wear the special jerseys only one other time this season on Feb. 29 when they host the New Jersey Devils.
