On Thursday, the Colorado Avalanche introduced their special new uniform created for the Stadium Series outdoor game at the Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs.
The Avalanche’s uniform takes inspiration from Colorado’s landscape and landmarks. The jerseys were also designed for viewing in a stadium setting by having “larger-than-life” cresting and striping.
The jersey features the team’s blue, white and burgundy colorways, which are layered from the jersey’s shoulder to its hem to represent Colorado’s blue skies, snow-capped mountains and red rocks. Angular design elements on the jersey were inspired by the Air Force Academy’s Cadet Chapel. A graphic inspired by the Colorado State Flag appears on the back neckline.
The Stadium Series game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 15, against the Los Angeles Kings.
