Air Force unveils 2019 Air Power Lagacy Series uniform

For the 2019 season, the Air Force Falcons football team will continue its Air Power Legacy Series uniform by honoring the C-17 aircraft.

The C-17 is a large military transport aircraft commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world. The C-17 is also used to transport the Presidential Limousine, Marine One, and security detachments. There have been several occasions when a C-17 has been used to transport the President himself, temporarily gaining the Air Force One call sign while doing so.

The all-gray uniform features a flat gray helmet, black lettering and includes nine Air Force base tail flashes in place of the back nameplate. The nine base are Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina, Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, March Air Reserve Base in California, Travis Air Force Base in California, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

The uniform also features reflective material on the helmet, shoulders, sides of the jersey and on the side of the pants which represents in the reflective material on the side of the aircraft.

Air Force will wear the C-17 uniform on Oct. 18 against Hawaii.

Air Force began the Air Power Legacy Series during the 2016 season with the Tiger Shark nose-art. The Falcons continues the series in 2017 with the F-35 theme and in 2018 with the AC-130 theme.
