Thunder unveil new uniforms for 2019-20 season

Today, the Oklahoma City Thunder unveiled four new uniforms for the 2019-20 season. The new uniforms include a new City Edition uniform designed in partnership with the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum to recognize the upcoming 25th anniversary of the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City.

The City Edition uniform design features many symbols that represent elements of the memorial. “Oklahoma City” appears across the chest in gold-lined letters, with the twin Gates of Time down the side of the jerseys and shorts. The times 9:01 and 9:03 appear on the vents of the shorts to reflect the minute before and after the attack. While the white on the side of the shorts represents the Reflecting Pool. Also, “Service,” “Honor” and “Kindness” appear above the jersey’s tag.

The Survivor Tree, a 90-year-old American elm at the site of the memorial, is on the front waist of the shorts. Inside the jersey, there’s a blue ribbon with “We Remember Those Who Were Changed Forever, April 19, 1995.” on top of the ribbon.

With the City Edition uniform, the Thunder also unveiled updated Icon (blue), Associaton (white) and Statement (“sunset”/orange) uniforms.

Like their previous blue Icon uniform, the Thunder’s new white Association uniform will now have “Oklahoma City” across the chest in “sunset” orange and Thunder blue. The uniform will also have a state outline of Oklahoma on the waist of the shorts.

The Thunder’s new blue Icon uniform, now reads “Thunder” on the chest in “sunset” orange. The Icon and Association uniforms will both be worn at home and on the road starting next season.

Oklahoma City’s 2019-20 Statement Edition uniform brings back a similar “sunset” orange design as last season’s Earned uniform.
