Late Thursday evening, the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program unveiled a new alternate uniform that was designed by seniors Brad Davidson, Aleem Ford, Micah Potter and D’Mitrik Trice.
The cream/off-white Under Armour uniform features “Wisconsin Badgers” stitched across the chest in a script font. Two red stripes run down the right side of the uniform while an oversized retro “W” within a circle logo appears on the side of the left leg of the shorts. That same retro logo can be seen above the player’s last name on the back of the jersey. The player’s numbers use a similar font as the “W” in the logo. To complete the look, the Badgers’ current “Motion W” logo appears on the front of the waistband.
Under Armour has done a similar idea with Northwestern’s men’s basketball team over the past few seasons for senior night. Unlike Wisconsin’s player-designed alternate, which blends elements of Wisconsin basketball uniform history, Northwestern’s player-designed uniform seemed to take NBA uniforms from the 1990s and made them their own.
The Badgers will likely wear their new alternate uniform this Saturday in their rescheduled ACC-Big Ten Challenge matchup with the Lousiville Cardinals.
