On Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays unveiled their “New Blue” alternate uniform in front of their fans at their annual Winter Fest.
The powder blue uniform is a mix of old and new with a look that looks like it’s from the 1970s but modern logos and striping. Powder blue pants and a navy blue cap with a powder blue visor complete the new look.
On the jersey is “Blue Jays” across the chest in navy blue. New this season with all MLB jerseys is the Nike “Swoosh” logo on the upper right chest. The back of the jersey features the player’s number in the modern font and the player’s last name.
“For years, Blue Jays fans have expressed a desire for the revival of the baby blues,” Toronto president and CEO Mark Shapiro said. “As we began thinking about what an adaptation of the old uniform could look like, we polled our current players on various designs, and the response was unanimously aligned with what we have heard from fans. With that feedback, the decision was very clear. We are thrilled to share this original New Blue alternate uniform with Blue Jays fans across Canada.”
